He then completed his one year internship and three years of Family Practice training at the National Patient and Research Center, and became a Board Eligible Chiropractic Internist. He has maintained a successful natural alternative family practice for over thirty six years. Every year Dr. Filberth completes as many as 120 hours of continuing medical education for doctors in the field of sports medicine, internal disorders, nutrition and anti-aging medicine. He is currently certified in physical impairment rating by the American Medical Association, as well as Acupuncture, Nutrition, and Family Practice. Dr. Filberth maintains his memberships on the Council on Diagnosis and Family Practice, Sports Injury & Fitness and the Council on Nutrition of the ACA as well as the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
His practice is much like that of a medical internist or family practitioner in terms of diagnosis, but often significantly different in terms of treatment. His passion is wellness care rather than sickness care. This applies both to general practice patients as well as the athlete. His practice offers a comprehensive wellness program.
This program has revolutionized the way his patients eat, exercise and think. When in the best interests of the patient, he will refer the patients to the appropriate medical specialist for drug or surgical treatment. His practice philosophy has always been based on two distinct principles. First Is the Hippocratic Oath which says: “First of all do NO harm…”. Secondly is to treat every patient as if they were the most important one of the day, and treat them the same way you would want to be treated if you were the patient.
